We've responded to teachers' feedback and made some change to the diagnostic assessment tool to support you and your students. Details of the changes are below. If you are new to the diagnostic assessment tool start here.
Show results to students
When assigning a diagnostic test to students, teachers can now choose to allow students to view their results once the test has expired. Click Yes to allow. The default setting is No.
Note, tests designated as one sitting will show results on test expiry and tests designated as multiple sitting will show results on submission.
Assign to individual students
Choose to assign a diagnostic test to an individual student or group of students by selecting Students in Class in the Recipient field.
Select your class, uncheck the Select all students box and select the students you would like to assign it to.
Edit the expiry of a test
A teacher may need to edit the expiry of a test for students who were absent.
Go to the Manage assigned tests / Assign follow-up work tab in the diagnostic area.
Toggle the arrow next to the name of the assigned test to show the details.
Click on the Edit button.
Click in the right hand side of the Dates between box to adjust the expiry date and time.
Reset or reassign a test to an individual student
Teachers may need to reset or reassign a diagnostic test to an individual if they had technical disruptions or accidentally submitted before finishing.
Go to the Manage assigned tests / Assign follow-up work tab in the diagnostic area.
Toggle the arrow next to the name of the assigned test to show the details. Make sure the test has not expired and edit the expiry date if necessary.
Click on the name of the class.
Check the box next to the student and choose to reset - removing all responses, or reassign - to keep the responses they have already entered.
Force submit a student's test
If a student has started a diagnostic test but fails to submit it, the reporting for the test will not show a total score for that student. In these circumstances, teachers can force submit the student's test.
Go to the Manage assigned tests / Assign follow-up work tab in the diagnostic area.
Toggle the arrow next to the name of the assigned test to show the details.
Click on the name of the class.
Check the box next to the student(s) showing as Started and click Submit.
