How to bulk-upload your classes

Teachers using a Cambridge HOTmaths or Edjin product as a whole class resource can upload a file with all of their student and teacher accounts along with the names of classes they want to allocate them to.

Note that users must have a valid subscription and be assigned to a school to be added to a class. Users with expired subscriptions can be added to a class but cannot be assigned tests or tasks until their subscription is valid.

1. Go to the Manage Classes icon from the left-hand margin.

2. Click on the Bulk class update icon at the top of the right panel.

3. You will need a file with two columns - one labelled Email with each user's email address, and one labelled Class with the name(s) of the class(es) they are allocated to. The file must be saved as a .csv.  Click to add your file or drag it to the file field. Click Begin Import.

4. Configure your classes from the imported file to either create new classes or match to an existing class name using the drop-down menu in the Matched class column. Click Next.

5. At this point if your file contains users who do not have a valid subscription an error will appear. You can choose to delete these users from the upload before you continue. Click Next

6. Manage your user import. Check that your users are allocated to the right class or choose to change the class with the drop-down menu. Click Next

7. Review your data before submitting. If you still have errors in your data, you can download a list of users who will not be uploaded. Click Submit Import.

8. Go to the Manage Classes area to view the new or updated classes.
